Mario Lima was born in Curitiba, Brazil in 1974. He left his native land searching to quench his thirst for knowledge and has thus devoted his life to the world. During his journeys to Germany, Spain and Austria, countries offering much opportunity for introspection, he composed many of his works. He has lived in Paris since 2001, his paintings naturally being inspired by his deep-rooted attachment to cultural diversity.

The main themes of his paintings reflect his quest into the human consciousness through the process of individualisation. His centres of interest are based in symbols, inspired by dreams, creative imagination and the ancient myths of Brazilian Indians. As a result, the human being in his paintings is his creation, his representation illustrating the soul of the world. This fusion of colours and symbols bring to his work a treasured humanism.
